Christina Baldwin, Author of the Beekeeper’s Question

Author Christina Baldwin is a pioneer in the field of personal writing, a decades-long teacher of journal writing and storytelling. Her titles related to this work are: One to OneLife’s CompanionThe Seven Whispers, and Storycatcher. In 2024, she released her debut novel, The Beekeeper’s Question, Love and Honey, War and Reckoning, A Novel of WWII, a book I heartily recommend.

The novel is a multi-generational family saga based in western Montana during the early years of World War 2. New lovers, old friends, racial tensions, war shortages, the pressures on the home front to keep it all going… the book is gripping and surprisingly timely.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE INTERVIEW

We talk about a rich array of topics, including themes from the book, the relevance of a novel set during World War II to today, how Christina worked with a Native American advisor to make sure her story was appropriate and accurate, and the challenges and rewards of independent publishing.
